Senior Koda Martin received the United States Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award Sept. 4 in the Manvel High School gym.
The award, presented by several army members, is given to athletes who excel at sports and academics. Along with the award, Martin was selected to be in the pool of players eligible to play in the Army All-American football game. He is now an alternate to play in the January game held in San Antonio.
“It’s basically saying that I’m a pretty good student, but also I’m a pretty good athlete too,” Martin said. “So, it’s a pretty good honor and I was proud to get it.”
