SWINGING FOR GLORY: MHS STUDENTS PREVAILS AT GOLF TOURNAMENT

On Oct. 14 and 15, varsity golf player Mihir Annaldasula  won the Texas City Fall Invitational, the first tournament of the golf team’s season, by a single stroke.

Annaldasula competed against over 30 players from all over the south Houston area. On the first day of the two-day tournament, he shot a score of  73 and on the second day, made up two strokes to win with a final score of 75, securing first place above two Friendswood players. Going into 18th hole, he was down by one, but successfully shot a 20 foot putt to win the tournament.

“It was a tight match, but I think it was a good test of my will to win throughout the whole tournament— just to keep on persevering and never give up,” Annaldasula said.

Annaldasula is excited about this season, and looks forward to leading the team to state.
