The Manvel Mavericks were defeated by the defending state champion Katy Tigers on Dec. 6 in quarter semi-finals of football playoffs.
Students and faculty poured into Reliant Stadium to support their team, with many wearing “Victory Blue” to show their school spirit. The score was 28-14 at halftime, but Katy made several advances during the third and fourth quarters, leaving the final score at 56-14. This was the first time the Manvel Mavericks faced the Katy Tigers in football, and the farthest they have advanced in 5A football playoffs.
